National Dance Week NYC is proud to announce that Becky Colson, age 16, and dance student of ICON Dance Complex, has won the the ICON of Hope Project.
During the months of October, November and December, National Dance Week NYC was proud to be named a media sponsor of the ICON of Hope Project which encouraged dancers everywhere to send in a dance drawing with the title “ICON of Hope” and a donation of $5. The artwork was judged in a contest for most “hopeful” and “creative” and the donations will be send to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital this month. The images will soon be placed in a commemorative video for the children at the hospital. Stay tuned for details…
Becky, the winner, has been drawing since she was old enough to hold a crayon, and at the present moment, her passion is graffiti art. She always finds a way to incorporate dance into her art by designing and hand painting shirts, pants, sneakers and much more.
