Founded in 1984, Dance New Amsterdam (DNA) celebrates 26 years of cultural leadership in contemporary dance. DNA supports the life, career, and longevity of dance artists through ongoing high quality contemporary dance education, opportunities for choreographic exploration and innovative performance, and service to the field and the Lower Manhattan community. DNA fosters the development of new and experimental works through commissions, residencies and subsidized space. We are committed to training healthy dancers, developing new audiences and bridging diverse communities by exploring the role of dance across a spectrum of contemporary dance styles and cultures.

The Ailey Extension embodies Mr. Ailey’s legacy that dance comes from the people and that it should be given back to the people by making dance accessible to everyone. Whether you haven’t taken a dance class in 20 years, take class regularly, or have never danced a step, The Ailey Extension has dance and fitness classes designed especially for you.

The School at Peridance offers comprehensive Children and Teen classes, ages 18 months to 18 years. Peridance also provides an exciting opportunity to live and dance in NYC through its F-1 Visa International Student Program and the Certificate Program, a pre-professional training program for serious dancers ages 17 to 28.
