***Please bring your own favorite roller.***
Join us for this 90-minute workshop on techniques for releasing soft tissue using foam rollers, massage balls, and other tools. We will look at anatomical images corresponding to the tissues we are addressing and cover healthy post-release stretching. Dancers and the general public are welcome. Participants are strongly encouraged to bring their own favorite foam roller (or massage ball or other self-massage tool). Space for this workshop, provided in conjunction with the Harkness Center Healthy Dancer Initiative, is generously provided by the Mark Morris Dance Center.

About Harkness Center:
Harkness Center for Dance Injuries (HCDI) at New York Langone Health (New York, NY) is dedicated to enhancing the health and well-being of dance professionals by providing breakthrough approaches to injury prevention, medical treatment, education and training, and research. Founded in 1989 through a partnership between the Harkness Foundation for Dance and the Hospital for Joint Diseases, HCDI provides world-class clinical care for dancers of all types and levels. The scientific foundation for this expert care comes from research into understanding the dancer’s body in motion coupled with workplace requirements. HCDI’s evidence-based practice has produced globally accepted approaches to the recognition, treatment, and prevention of dance injuries.
In addition to caring for injuries, an integral part of HCDI’s mission is providing education. For the dance community, HCDI offers injury prevention workshops, screenings, and online courses. For fellow dance medicine professionals, HCDI is actively engaged in sharing clinical best practices through academic training with live and online continuing education courses. HCDI online courses are available for purchase at www.DanceMedU.org.
